About Us ... menAlive is a Catholic Men's Ministry

Vision
The purpose of menAlive is to bring men together, to renew their faith in God and to encourage them to become an active force of renewal in the church.   Many men have a sense that something is missing – that there has to be more to life. For many men they feel disconnected with their families and with God – they feel that their life has become mundane and are merely existing in lives that lack balance, purpose and clear direction.   The mission of menAlive is to encourage men in their faith journey. For some men this is square one – they are yet to experience God’s power and love and the freedom that comes through the Sacraments of Reconciliation and Eucharist.   We have been created by God with purpose to make a difference in this world - in our families, workplaces and in the life of the church.
In John’s gospel Jesus said:

“I have come to give you life and life to the full” John 10:10

The menAlive Experience

menAlive teams work in partnership with parishes that host the men Alive Weekends. The well developed conference program delivers relevant talks and personal testimonies, opportunity for discussion in small groups and importantly it provides the space and environment for men to reflect.

The experience of men gathering together at a menAlive weekend or event is dynamic and powerful. The result is that for many men, they are inspired, encouraged and feel that they have a new sense of purpose and mission.

Men Alive seeks to challenge men to stand up and take their place in the church.

 The Impact - God's Action
For so many years my life has been filled up with work and nothing much else – my marriage has suffered, my relationship with my kids has suffered and I have felt empty inside, just going through motions. This weekend has helped me re align my priorities and trust in God’s plan for my life and family – Michael, Brisbane.

“For so long I have felt alone in my struggle, my focus was on my inability to be a good Christian man. Now I am convinced that I am not alone in my fight and desire for a pure and upright life” – Tony, Brisbane

I have been a Catholic all of my life, but through this weekend I have experienced a change in my heart and a new passion for making a difference in my own life, my family, the life of the church and in my workplace” Peter, Brisbane.

“The menAlive weekend was a powerful experience for me. I had not been to reconciliation for 20 years and felt a great burden lift from my shoulders – I now have a new sense of freedom and joy in my life that had not been there for a long time – Alan, Adelaide.

“I attended the weekend last year without knowing what to expect – my mate dragged me along, and I am glad he did. The guys running the weekend were just normal guys with an amazing message. For the first time I have asked for Gods help in my life – and it has made all the difference.” – Matthew, Gold Coast
