The menALIVE breakfast held in conjunction with the IGNITE09 Conference in September was a great success, attended by more than 160 men. Mike Duggan was there and wrote this report.

I attended another wonderful menAlive event last week, this one in the Mount Gravatt Bowls Club hall which was a great breakfast followed by an inspirational presentation on what manhood means. It was presented by Jonathan Doyle who was knowledgeable, funny, relevant and a great teacher, and is described as one of Australia’s best communicators on issues surrounding masculinity and sexuality – I can confirm that he is well worth any effort you make to listen to him. He covered (i) manhood in crisis, (ii) wisdom from the past for the man of the future and (iii) left us with 7 principles to transform each man – absolutely vital knowledge for every man no matter what his age. There were approx 160 men attending and many of them were young blokes from the Ignite conference which was great to see.
